Have your tax forms completed and filed for free by our volunteers from AARP. Please be sure to bring last year’s tax forms. No appointments available. First come, first served.

Get information about important health topics from University of Pittsburgh Pharmacy students and have your questions  answered. See our website for specific program descriptions. No registration required.

Diabetes: Tuesday, March 20 @ 6:30 pm
One third of all people with diabetes are not aware they have it. Find out if you are at risk. Learn about meal plans, lifestyle changes, and medications from a pharmacist’s perspective. Share your questions and concerns with Dr. Sharon Connor and student pharmacists from the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy.

Blood Pressure and Cholesterol: Tuesday, March 27 @ 6:30 pm
High blood pressure affects about 1 in 3 American adults. Learn about ways to monitor your blood pressure and lifestyles to promote a healthy heart. Additionally, understand high cholesterol from a pharmaceutical perspective. Improve your numbers, stay healthy, and prevent this disease through simple diet and exercise changes.

Health Insurance: Tuesday, April 3 @ 6:30 pm
Understand insurance from a pharmacist’s perspective: what is a co-pay? What types of insurances are there? What is Medicare and Medicaid, and do I qualify for them? What is a donut hole and why do my prescriptions cost so much? What resources are there for me to find the cheapest prices for my medications?

Book Share - Friday, April 6 @ 2 pm
What’s Book Share? Not the same as a book club! Together we will be chatting about our latest books we’ve read (both likes & dislikes), talk about ways to find your next read and more! Pam and Nancy will also be providing a few recommendations for you! Registration optional for this new program.

Join us for our BRAND NEW book club at the library! Each month we will be reading a book, watching the movie adaptation and then discussing the differences, similarities and more! Be sure to join us. AARP Safe Driving Course - Wednesday & Thursday, April 18 & 19 from 9 am - 1 pm
Joe Kletch, a volunteer at AARP, is teaching this course that reinforces good driving habits, a review of current and past Pennsylvania laws and safety and health issues.

Registration is required and this course is $15 for AARP members and $20 for non-members. Please pay the instructor before the first class.

Spring Travel Series - Tuesdays @ 7 pm

Please join us as we "travel" around the world during this six-week series. Light refreshments will be provided by Norbert Personal Care & Seven Oaks Hospice. Bring a friend or two! No registration required.
