Get Your Craft On! Make your own Greeting Cards

Fee: $25 to cover supplies

Come create your own, personalized greeting cards, with Frann Ruppen of Creative Memories. This week’s theme: Just Because!

Celebrate everyday moments the Just Because Card kit that comes with everything you need to make 12 beautiful 4-¼ x 5-½ cards, from the scored cards and envelopes to pre-cut and pre-packaged pieces (some of which feature embossing!) and BONUS pieces, as well as an assortment of embellishments like stickers with print greetings and gemstone stickers. All of this comes inside a beautiful matching box! It’s perfect for DIY birthday cards, along with cards for Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day and Father’s Day, anniversaries or even just showing appreciation to the people in your life!

Cost is $25. Deadline for sign-ups is October 10. Registration is not complete, until payment has been made at the library.

Free Bingo Friday

Ages: 18 and older.

Four Corners? Small Diamond?  Postage stamp?  We’ll play 10 games for small prizes, with refreshments as well.  Bring some friends!

Yoga with Marian Luisi
Mondays @ 7 pm:  Oct. 7, 14, 21, 28; Nov. 4, 11, 18 & 25.

Registration? Yes for each session attending. The class is donation-based. A $5 donation is suggested.
Ages: 18 and older.

Marian has been teaching yoga for 15+ years. This is a vinyasa flow based class and she’ll mix it up each time so no one will be bored!  She will bring extra mats for those who need one.  Marian does the practice as she teaches it. Beginners are welcome to join, as well.

Walkie Talkies: Baldwin Library’s Walking Club
Mondays:  Oct. 7, 14 & 21 @ 9 am

Registration?: No.
Ages: All ages.
Start out the week on the right foot and walk around our library’s neighborhood. We’ll go rain or shine (but no storms).

AARP Safe Driving Course 
Wednesday, Oct. 16 & Thursday, Oct. 17: 9 am- 1 pm

Registration?: Yes
Ages: 50 and older.

This two- day safe driving course is for anyone over the age of 50. You may be eligible for a discount from your car insurance company after completing the class. Cost is $15 for AARP members and $20 for non-members, payable during the 1st class to the instructor.  

Knit Clinic with Emily

Wednesday, Oct. 16 @ 2 pm
Registration required?: Yes
Ages: 18 and older.
Learn from your mistakes – how to fix them and how not to (hopefully) make them.

Supplies: Bring a crochet hook (size H/8 or I/9, knitting needles (size 8 or 9), or a project that is frustrating you. Yarn will be provided.

Knit or Crochet Christmas Ornaments with Emily
Thursday, Nov. 14 @ 6:30 pm
Registration required?: Yes.
Ages: 18 and older.
Crochet a cute gingerbread man or knit a tiny sweater to decorate your tree.

Supplies:  Crochet hook size G or knitting needles size 7. Yarn will be provided.

Fall Travel Series
Tuesdays @ 7 pm: Oct. 1, 8, 14, 22, & 29
Registration?: No.
Ages: 18 and older
Join us as we “travel” to 5 locations around the world. No need for a passport, just show up and bring a friend, if you like. Light refreshments served.

Oct. 15 – Crater Lake National Park
Oct. 22 — Switzerland
Oct. 29 – Secrets of Westminster Abbey

Tech Help

DAY TRIP! – Merry Ligonier Christmas Day Trip

Saturday, Dec. 7: 9:15 am – 8:30 pm

Registration?: Yes, with full payment by check or cash by October 31.

Cost: $105 per person.

We will leave from the parking lot at the rear of the library at 9:15 a.m. Our first stop in Ligonier will be at the Ramada Hotel for a traditional Christmas buffet. After lunch, we will hear the “Holiday Musical Revue” performed by Cathi Rhodes, which will put us in the Christmas mood. We will have free time to browse and shop in downtown Ligonier while enjoying the festive lights and decorations of the town square. A candlelight tour of the Compass Inn Museum follows with candlelit wreaths and trees plus delicious mulled cider.  There will be a stop at the “Old General Store” and “The Country Pie Shoppe”, where we all will receive a mini pie. To round out the day, we will drive through the light display at Overly’s Country Christmas.
