Cooking Classes

Overwhelmed by the kitchen?  Need help making a meal on a budget?

Join this basic cooking class, where you’ll learn simple cooking skills and tricks.  Tracy will show you how to cook a hearty meal, for under $10.  Each participant will cook alongside Tracy, and be given step by step recipes. They’ll even get to leave with their very own ready to eat dinner, cooked right in the library!

Note: This class is for adults 17 years and older.  It is intended to help beginners learn cooking basics to eat healthy on a budget. Hot plates and other kitchen utensils will be used during class.

Sewing Classes
Registration?: Yes.
18 and older.

No experience necessary.   At the end of the class, you’ll have your very own neck warmer, ready to be heated up at home.  The perfect way to stay warm and cozy while reading a good book. All materials will be provided.

Infinity Scarf: Tuesday, Feb. 11 @ 6:30pm
Lindsay will teach you step by step, providing instruction and help in this beginner’s sewing project.  At the end of the class, you’ll have your very own stylish scarf to show off to your friends.  We encourage you to bring your own fabric if you want a specific color/pattern.  We will also have fabric to choose from.
Essential Oils Classes

What are essential oils?  How do we use them and why do we use them? Laura will answer these questions and give you the opportunity to touch, smell and try some of these essential oils.

Cookies & Crafts: Valentine’s String Art
Sunday, Jan. 26 @ 1:00pm

Back by popular demand, join use for another Cookies & Crafts!  This month we are inspired by St. Valentine, and will be making heart string art.

There will be several patterns to choose from (see examples below, not the final artwork).  You’ll get to be creative and hit a bunch of nails!

Please bring a hammer, and a dozen of your favorite cookies to share with your new friends.

Get Your Craft On! Make your own Greeting Cards
Wednesday, Jan. 29 @ 6:00pm, and  Feb 3 @6:00pm

Fee: $25 to cover supplies

Come create your own, personalized greeting cards! This week’s theme: Love
This make-your-own card kit has everything you need to create 12 unique greeting cards, including a charming matching box! It’s perfect for creating  Cost is $25 and includes all the materials needed to make 12 cards.

Registration is not complete, until payment has been made at the library.

Transform a book into a work of art!  Come to the library and learn the art of book page folding to create a 3D masterpiece.  This month, we are inspired by love, so we’ll be doing a heart! All materials will be provided.

Crochet Classes
Registration required?: Yes.
Ages: 18 and older.

Learn the basics of knitting and crochet, or bring a current project and knit and crochet with us.

Supplies:  Beginners: 1 skein of Red Heart Super Saver, Red Heart Soft, or Lion Brand Vanna’s Choice; crochet hook I/9 or one pair of knitting needles, size 8

Tunisian Crochet Monday, Feb 24 @ 1pm 

We’ll be making a dishcloth using the Tunisian Crochet stitch.

Supplies:  1 skein Sugar and Cream or comparable cotton yarn, size 8/H Tunisian crochet hook (loaner hooks will be available)

Yoga Classes
Mondays @ 7 pm

Registration? Yes for each session attending. The class is donation-based. A $5 donation is suggested.
Ages: 18 and older.

Marian has been teaching yoga for 15+ years. This is a vinyasa flow based class and she’ll mix it up each time so no one will be bored!  She will bring extra mats for those who need one.  Marian does the practice as she teaches it. Beginners are welcome to join, as well.
