Volunteer!

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with the Library! Volunteering is a valuable way to use your talents, learn new skills and meet new people, all while contributing to the education and literacy of the Baldwin Community.

The Library welcomes and encourages anyone to volunteer for the library. Volunteers provide essential support for daily library operations including assisting with programs and events, organizing materials, and keeping our library clean and inviting.

Important Notes:

  • All volunteers will be required to obtain child abuse and criminal history clearances as per state and library policy.

  • Every attempt will be made to place volunteers in positions that match their interests, skills and time commitments.

  • We do not accept court ordered community service volunteers at this time.

Types of volunteer activities include: Pulling books, shelving, and shelf reading our collections; assisting in program preparation; helping with library events and fundraisers; cleaning and special projects.

If you are interested in volunteering at the library, please fill out a library volunteer interest form and a staff member will contact you.

I you would like to get more involved and help the Baldwin Library join our volunteer organization: Friends of the Baldwin Library!

Adult Volunteer Form

Every Summer, we have a special Teen Volunteering Program. The Library invites 30-35 teens to volunteer their time for our summer reading program. The program gives teens an opportunity to learn transferable work skills, give them a space to develop their personal skills, connect them to a cross-section of community members, and help prepare them for a productive and fulfilling adulthood.

The program is announced in he spring, and we hold a special training night in May where students have an opportunity to become familiar with all volunteer areas.

If you are a teen and interested in volunteering, fill out this form and return via email to Youth Services Librarian, Sarah Meyer meyers@einetwork.net
