Travel has been a passion of mine for nearly 20 years and as I write this post I am 11,000 feet above sea level in magnificent Breckenridge, Colorado. The snow topped mountains and bright blue, sunny skies have been my companions for eight days. Trips like this feed my soul by experiencing the beauty and diversity of our country.
It has been my pleasure to offer short and longer term trips through our library over the past 10 years. We have enjoyed New York wineries, our Amish friends’ hospitality, boat rides on Pennsylvania lakes and even a ‘safari’ in Ohio!
My favorite trip (so far!) was an eleven day cruise to Alaska in 2005. We cruised for 7 days and then spent 4 days in Denali National Park, hiking and staying in rustic log cabins. We were all trying to see the ‘big five’ animals on the trip and we succeeded in spotting moose, Dall sheep, bears, caribou and wolves. It was a trip of a lifetime
Internationally, many of us toured Ireland, Scotland, Austria and Italy and made many great memories as well as new friends along the way.
